PeakRx Therapy strives to go beyond traditional physical therapy, owner Brooke Miller says, and helps clients reach their goals with personalized treatments.

Miller started PeakRx in Lewisville about five years ago after she had her first child and struggled to get back to the athlete she was before she had a baby, she said.

“That’s where PeakRx was born, just kind of wanting to be the provider I wish I had had myself,” Miller said. “I started actually renting a room out of a gym, and then over time it grew into this.”

Miller has been a physical therapist for more than 10 years and worked out of a local hospital, but she wanted to help her clients more. She realized traditional physical therapy left people wanting more in terms of their goals for fitness, such as running and lifting weights, Miller said.

“We weren’t really able to provide that where we were at,” she said.

At PeakRx, there are three physical therapists who work on orthopedic, pelvic floor and performance-based therapy.

“We live in this weird world of helping out a lot of different people with a lot of different things,” Miller said. “We’re able to look at each person through those three lenses and normally find a happy medium.”

Pelvic health is a passion of Miller’s, she said.

She wants to work at removing the stigma associated with pelvic floor issues, such as incontinence, pain and general pelvic floor knowledge, she said.

“It shouldn’t be embarrassing,” she said.

Beyond the pelvic floor, therapists at PeakRx also help clients with orthopedic needs—such as treating knees, shoulders and feet—along with performance therapy, Miller said.

“We have a lot of things we are passionate about here,” she said.

PeakRx is out of network, which means the clinic does not bill insurance companies for the treatment. Instead, clients can request reimbursement from their insurer.

“It takes a special person who’s honestly just committed to (attending physical therapy) and willing to invest in themselves,” Miller said.

PeakRx continues to grow, Miller said, which means she is looking to expand, hopefully within the same building in Lewisville.

“It just gets bigger and bigger, and helps more people,” she said. “We want to eliminate the ‘I wish I had known.’”
