When husband and wife Tom and Martha Day founded The Vitamin Bridge in May 2019, they did so to fill a void.

The backstory

While volunteering at a pregnancy center, Martha heard nurses repeatedly tell moms-to-be they needed to buy prenatal vitamins and start taking them as soon as possible.

“They [the moms] were coming because they didn’t have insurance or a doctor and lacked financial resources,” Martha said. “It seemed to me a tremendous opportunity was being missed.”

The couple started nonprofit in their Coppell home and stored the vitamins in their utility room.

By 2020, after receiving a donation of 6,000 prenatal vitamins from CVS, the nonprofit moved to the ReMax building on Denton Tap Road.

The impact

On May 7, The Vitamin Bridge will hold their largest delivery day with over 10,000 bottles of prenatal vitamins being distributed in one day.

“Park Place dealerships will be participating by sending a fleet of SUVs to help make deliveries across the metroplex,” Martha said.

Marking a milestone

To celebrate the five-year anniversary, as well as crossing 100,000 bottles of vitamins donated since inception, a come and go event will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the nonprofit’s office May 14.
