Florida-based Kava Culture is planning to open a location in Lewisville, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Set to be located in Deck on Main development in Old Town, the bar-concept focuses on nonalcoholic drinks mixed with kava and/or kratom. Kava comes from a plant root that is ground up and drunk in social and ceremonial settings within Polynesian and Pacific Island cultures, while kratom is a leaf from Southeast Asia with deep roots in Chinese and South Asian medicine, according to the company’s website.

Per the TDLR filing, work on the nearly 1,800-square-foot space is set to begin in November with an expected completion date in April 2025.
