The Lewisville Costco location will be adding six new gas pumps following the approval of a special-use permit by City Council during a Dec. 4 meeting.

The additional pumps will remove 25 parking stalls, leaving Costco with 746 spots. The project will expand the 17 1/2-foot canopy, replace existing lights with upgraded LED lighting and add the new gas dispensers. Landscaping work will also be done with the addition of shrubbery around the fueling station, according to documents. The gas station has been in operation since 2004, and the addition will help alleviate wait times for customers, according to SUP permit filing from Barghausen Consulting Engineers, who represented Costco on the project.

No timetable has been announced for the project.
