In Dallas County, about 41,000 voters have cast their ballots during early voting ahead of the May 6 general election, according to the county’s elections office.

Early voting began April 24 and will run through May 2. In the city of Dallas, the ballot includes candidates for City Council and the Dallas ISD school board.

In Dallas County, about 1.39 million people are registered to vote. About 3% of those voters, 41,107, had cast their ballots as of April 30, according to the Dallas County Elections Department.

Voters still planning to cast their ballots before election day can do so May 2 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. in Dallas County. Three polling sites will be open for early voting in the Lake Highlands/Lakewood area: the Dallas College Richland Campus, the Audelia Road Branch Library and the Samuell Grand Recreation Center.

Election day is May 6, and the polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
