What you need to know
The city updated Keller Sports Park’s operating policies and concessionaire contract using input from local organizations to maximize the facility's usage, according to city documents. City Council approved the policy updates during its regular meeting Sept. 2.
Fall season sports at the park include softball, baseball, soccer, football and rugby. Spring season sports include softball, baseball, soccer and lacrosse.
Keller residents will pay $10 per player for each sport the player participates in for each season. Nonresident fees will also increase from $30 to $50 per player for each sport for each season.
Fees will be capped at $40 per family per season for residents and $200 per family per season for nonresidents.
Communication and Public Engagement Manager Rachel Reynolds said fees will be collected by local associations and paid to the city. She said the fees will cover costs like electricity and janitorial services.
The policy changes come after a more than $40 million renovation to the park, which is expected to be completed in January 2026.
Also of note
Private rentals are now also available at Keller Sports Park for associations, residents and nonresidents interested in scheduling games outside of regular seasons starting Oct. 1. The park is the only sports facility owned by the city that offers fields for baseball, softball and other sports.
Grass field usage will be $50 per hour for residents and associations and $150 for nonresidents. Synthetic field usage will be $150 per hour for residents and $250 per hour for nonresidents.
Facilities will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with first priority to groups with resident members ages 18 and under and second priority to groups with adult resident members, according to city documents. Participants' addresses will be required during the sign-up process. The new agreement also allows the city to charge associations and rental users for damage to the fields.
