The backstory
According to a city news release, Clark has been director of library and cultural services for the city of Aurora, Colorado, since 2019. In Aurora, where library statistics encompassed 1.3 million checkouts, nearly 500,000 visits and nearly 172,000 program attendees, she managed numerous public services, including:
- Seven public libraries
- A bookmobile
- Two arts centers
- A history museum and historic sites
- Cultural arts education
According to the news release, Clark holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism along with a master's in science in library and information sciences, and a master's in arts in applied communication with an emphasis in marketing and public relations.

One of the first projects that Clark will oversee when she begins Jan. 2 is the construction of a new public library location on Avondale-Haslet Road adjacent to the Goddard School. According to a library website, the new location will expand service into District 10. Some key facts about the new location include:
- It has an 18,000-square-foot footprint.
- It has an estimated value of $12.26 million with funding provided from the city’s 2022 bond program.
- The building is being designed by Fort Worth-based HKS Architects.
- The estimated completion is set for 2025.
