Challenger Sean Kilbride wins the Westlake mayor's seat after a close race with incumbent Mayor Laura Wheat, according to unofficial results from Denton and Tarrant counties.
Wheat, the manager at Wheat Investments, lost by seven votes to Kilbride, who works in consulting.
Kilbride received 288 votes, and Wheat had accumulated 281 votes, according to election results.
In the three-way race for two at-large positions on the Westlake Town Council, Kim Greaves and David Quint won out over incumbent Alesa Belvedere. Greaves had 361 votes, or 41.07%, Quint received 291 votes, or 33.11% while Belvedere has 227 votes or 25.82%.
