The first day to file for a place on the May 7 local election ballot opens Jan. 19.

Seats up for grabs are on Keller City Council, the town councils for Trophy Club and Westlake, and the board of trustees for Keller ISD and Northwest ISD.

Fort Worth City Council and Roanoke City Council do not have any seats open for the May election.

In Keller, City Council Place 3 and Place 4 are up for election, according to the city’s website. Currently, Sheri Almond holds Place 3, while Beckie Paquin holds Place 4. Both Almond and Paquin were first elected in May 2019.

Trophy Club Town Council Places 5 and 6 are up for election, the city’s website stated. LuAnne Oldham currently holds Place 5, while Philip Shoffner holds Place 6.


Westlake Town Council’s mayor and two council seats are up for election in May, according to the city’s website. Laura Wheat is the current mayor, while the seats of Council Members Alesa Belvedere and Rajiv Trivedi are up for election.

In Keller ISD, board of trustees Places 1, 2 and 3 are up for election, the school district’s website states. Place 1 is currently held by Craig Allen; Place 2 is held by Karina Davis; and Place 3 is held by Cindy Lotton.

On the Northwest ISD board of trustees, Places 3 and 4 are up for election, according to the school district’s website. Anne Simpson holds Place 3, and Judy Copp holds Place 4.

Filing for a place on the May 7 general election ballot closes at 5 p.m. Feb. 18, according to the state's election calendar. The last day to register to vote for the May 7 election is April 7. The first day of early voting in person starts April 25, while the last day is May 3. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is April 26.
