Two new members and one existing member of the Keller ISD board of trustees were sworn in during a special meeting May 14. The new board’s first order of business was to elect new board positions for president, vice president and secretary.

Randy Campbell and Jennifer Erickson were sworn in to their new positions along with Chelsea Kelly, who was reelected in the May election. Interim Superintendent Cory Wilson gave the final tally for each candidate. They included:
  • Randy Campbell - Place 1 trustee position: 7,762 votes
  • Jennifer Erickson - Place 2 trustee position: 7,772 votes
  • Chelsea Kelly - Place 3 trustee position: 8,775 votes
Campbell said it feels good to be on the board after a long journey.

“I think the momentum has shifted,” Campbell said. “People are positive and it’s time for a new direction.”

A closer look


After the three trustees were sworn in, the new board engaged in its first official act to elect new officers.

John Birt was elected president by a vote of 4-3. Heather Washington was elected to the vice president role by a vote of 4-3. Randy Campbell was unanimously elected to the secretary position.
