The details
According to a district website, to be eligible for kindergarten for the 2025–26 school year, students must turn 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. Students eligible to enroll in pre-kindergarten must be 4 years of age on or before Sept. 1.
The following documents are necessary to complete the enrollment process:
- Certified birth certificate
- Student’s Social Security card (optional but preferred)
- Parent or legal guardian photo ID
- Proof of residency: includes current utility bills, a lease or housing contract
- Immunization record: must include physician signature or stamp
- Proof of income: examples include SNAP letter, most recent paycheck stub from all income-earners, or self-employed families can submit tax returns
The enrollment process is completed online. Families that may qualify for special programs such as free pre-k or if a birth certificate is not available may need to provide additional documents. The district’s enrollment website has information on all the steps families need to take in order to get their new students enrolled.
