The Big Event is Keller ISD's one-day service project open to all Keller ISD students, their parents and guardians, teachers and staff members from the district’s 42 campuses.

The details

Each Keller ISD campus will participate in various service activities that will be age- and grade-level appropriate on April 12, 2025.

Modeled after Texas A&M University's program, which was introduced in 1982, The Big Event has become the largest one-day, student-run service project in the United States, according to a district news release.

Volunteer jobs noted on the event's website include:
  • Picking up trash on the roadways outside a school
  • Singing to residents at nursing homes or assisted-living facilities
  • Making food bags for the homeless
  • Assisting at Community Storehouse
