Roanoke Tavern is now open, offering hot wings, cold beer and good vibes, co-owner Cary Moon said.

The details

Roanoke Tavern is a sports bar and is an expansion of the Keller Tavern, Moon said. It has 75-inch televisions throughout the venue with good audio for game watching, he said.

The restaurant serves craft burgers, Philly cheesesteaks and tavern bites, which is chicken wrapped in jalapeno and spun in buffalo sauce, Moon said.

The tavern also has a whiskey wall with 100 whiskeys and if a guest drinks 100 whiskeys over a certain period of time, then they get their name on a plaque, Moon said. The side patio will also have a place for walk-up service, he said.

Partners who brought the Keller Tavern to Roanoke include David DeWald, Greg Polson and Robert Veshirs, Moon said.

Roanoke Tavern is one of three establishments in the old Chop Shop Live location. The other two include Roanoke Live for live performances and Cafe Republic, which is not yet open, Moon said.
