Roy Hutchins, his son Wesley and his grandson Zack will operate the restaurant and serve many of the same family recipes that are at Hutchins BBQ in McKinney and Frisco. However, this is a different ownership than the McKinney and Frisco brand.
The location at 3000 Hwy. 114, Trophy Club, will seat 418 people in the former Bread Winner Cafe and Bakery location. Renovations for the location cost $175,000, according to documents filed with the state.
Specialties include beef ribs, only available on Saturdays and Sundays; fried catfish sold by the pound; burnt ends when available; and Texas Twinkies, which are large jalapenos stuffed with brisket and cream cheese and then wrapped in premium thick-cut bacon. Sides include jalapeno pinto beans, potato casserole and broccoli salad, and can also be ordered by the pint, quart, half-gallon or gallon. Dine-in customers looking to satisfy their sweet cravings get a complimentary serving of peach cobbler or banana pudding.
