The clinic will be located at 2250 Hwy. 114, Ste. 600, in the Trophy Club Town Center shopping center. The previous tenant at that location was 3 Volt Fitness, which was owned by former Dallas Cowboys star DeMarcus Ware.
The details
According to Matt Cox, Trophy Club's director of community development, the space is approximately 4,600 square feet. Russell Miller, managing owner and founder of VO Vets, also discussed how being in Trophy Club helps the clinic provide quality veterinary care to the area’s growing pet population.
“In 2020, it was identified that almost 70% of American households owned a pet,” Miller said. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw a 30% increase in the number of pets adopted in our community. Our marketing team’s research demonstrated that 70% of millennial pet owners alone are willing to pay more for great customer experiences.”
To address this heightened demand, Miller went on to say they are focusing on the following steps with regard to their clinics:
- Convenient locations with extended hours
- Urgent care and walk-ins-welcome approach
- Robust communication, however the client prefers it—two-way texting, chat, phone, in-person
- Easy-to-book appointments with mobile friendly, streamlined paperwork submission
Diving in deeper
The council approved the special use permit five votes to one. Mayor Pro Tem Dennis Sheridan was the lone vote against the business.
Tiffany, who was one of the five members approving the permit, expressed her delight in giving residents more veterinary service options and also bringing more dollars into Trophy Club.
"The opportunity is great because the pet business is [worth] billions of dollars,” Tiffany said. “So why not get some of it here in Trophy Club? We do have a vet, but this is another opportunity. I think you have a great opportunity to build a strong business. Thank you for bringing it to town.”
