A news release from the airport stated the access opened Dec. 19, earlier than planned, with airport officials and project partners working on an accelerated opening ahead of the Christmas travel season. A new bridge to the terminal and associated roadway improvements were made.
The details
The southbound access in Terminal A will open in a temporary but near-complete condition. The southbound access will be finished in January, following the peak travel period, according to a news release.
Passengers arriving from the south are encouraged to stay in the right lane along International Parkway until guided to the new exit. Customers coming from the north entry will take the new right-hand exit from International Parkway, shared by terminals A and B. Customers will bypass the new exit for Terminal B and follow the roadway back to the northbound direction to merge with northbound traffic entering Terminal A.
