Southlake will be welcoming new restaurant Mesero by the end of 2021. The restaurant will replace Howard Wang's China Grill, which is closing at the end of June, at 1471 E. Southlake Blvd.

With four locations in Dallas, one in Fort Worth and one in Plano, the Tex-Mex franchise is now eyeing Southlake for its seventh location. Trey Dyer, president of Mesero, said this new location will be “taking the best from all the other locations and bringing them together.”

“We hope this will complement the Southlake community and surrounding communities,” he said. “There’s an appetite for good food, great atmosphere and great drinks.”

Mesero is known for its Queso Mesero, its brisket tacos and shrimp-loaded ceviche, among other dishes.

“We’ve got a little of everything for everyone,” Dyer said.

According to Dyer, the company had been seeking a location in Southlake for a while, waiting until the right location come along.

“We had noticed that Southlake is a staple of great restaurants and the surrounding community obviously supports them and has supported them through the last year,” he said.
