The University Interscholastic League announced the tentative 2024-25 and 2025-26 football, basketball and volleyball district assignments Feb. 1. By realigning assignments, teams in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD will face new opponents over the next two years.

The details

According to a district news release, Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School will switch from Region 1, District 4 to Region 1, District 3 in football. Opponents in this new district include:
  • Argyle
  • Arlington Seguin
  • Burleson
  • The Colony
  • Everman
  • Mansfield Summit
  • Mansfield Timberview
For nonfootball sports, the news release states that GCISD schools will compete in Region 1, District 6 for academic years 2024-25 and 2025-26. Currently, GCISD schools are in Region 1, District 7.

According to the news release, new district opponents for nonfootball sports include:
  • Argyle
  • Colleyville Heritage
  • Denton
  • Denton Ryan
  • Grapevine
  • North Richland Hills Birdville
  • North Richland Hills Richland

District alignments for remaining sports will be announced by the UIL no later than April, according to the news release, with announcements regarding academic alignments to follow.
