Grapevine-Colleyville ISD officials approve Jason Adams as new superintendent
After starting a search for a new superintendent candidate in February, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD trustees approved the contract for a new permanent superintendent, Jason Adams.
Adams’ contract was unanimously approved by trustees during the June 15 meeting.
“I am truly grateful for this opportunity to serve this community,” Adams said. “I look forward to working alongside of you, and beginning this work, which officially starts tomorrow morning.”
Trustees named Adams, who previously worked as a deputy superintendent in Garland ISD, the lone finalist May 21. State law requires districts to wait at least 21 days after naming a lone finalist to approve the hire.
Carroll ISD trustees adopt $160.78M FY 2026-27 budget
The Carroll ISD budget for fiscal year 2026-27 will include staff raises between 3% and 5%, as well as other salary and rate adjustments.
Trustees unanimously approved the FY 2026-27 budget during the June 15 meeting. The adopted budget is balanced, meaning that revenues and expenditures are the same values.
Total revenues for the budget are more than $160.78 million, and expenditures are also over $160.78 million, including a budgeted $21.5 million recapture payment to the state.
CISD’s general operating fund revenue totals nearly $124.62 million, according to district documents. General operating fund expenditures are the same value.
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD trustees adopt $237.7M FY 2026-27 budget
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD trustees approved a balanced general fund budget, which includes raises for staff and raises the starting pay for certified teachers.
Trustees approved the $237.7 million budget for fiscal year 2026-27 during the June 15 meeting by a 5-2 vote, with trustees Darrell Brown and Lindsey Sheguit voting against.
GCISD’s general fund revenues and expenditures are balanced at $185.23 million, respectively, according to district documents. According to a presentation by GCISD Chief Financial Officer Carla Settle, net of recapture and tax increment fund payments, 85.46% of the district’s expenditures are for payroll.
Settle said inflation is impacting increasing expenditures for fuel, freight and utilities. GCISD will also increase its contribution toward employee health insurance to at least $300, which will maintain compliance with the Affordable Care Act, Settle added. This results in a $450,000 increase in expenditures on the employer contribution toward health insurance.
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Carroll ISD students outperform statewide STAAR scores
Results from the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, end-of-course exams show Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and Carroll ISD students performed better than students across the state in 2026.
The Texas Education Agency released results for end-of-course assessments, which show the exam results for high school students broken down by subject, on June 10.
