The Carroll ISD community has left its mark on a piece of school history.

Children wearing construction vests and hats passed out green markers for the community to sign the foundation slab of the district's new music center on Dec. 11. The event was a celebration of the construction of one of the 2017 bond program's larger projects. The targeted project completion date for the district's new music center is spring 2020.

The new music center will include a state-of-the-art music hall and multilevel seating for more than 700 people, according to a presentation by Huckabee Architects. It will be located on the site of Carroll Senior High School.

Renderings of the new facility were also on display at the slab signing party.

"This is going to be a fantastic facility," Superintendent David Faltys said at the event.
