M Crowd Restaurant Group announced a partnership with Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q, a Grapevine-based food truck that serves Mexican-inspired barbecue, and plans to open Vaqueros' first stand-alone restaurant in Allen, according to a Nov. 6 news release.

Arnulfo “Trey” Sanchez, owner of Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q, said he has served Texas-style barbecue in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 1987. Sanchez launched Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q in Grapevine in 2018, according to the release.

The new restaurant will serve Vaqueros’ barbecue menu including barbecue birria, brisket and other smoked meats, along with margaritas, beer and more. The partnership with M Crowd Restaurant Group, known for restaurant concepts such as Mi Cocina, will allow Sanchez to serve his barbecue for seven days a week for the first time, according to the release.

“Trey’s take on Texas barbecue is unique, one-of-a-kind and, above all, authentic,” said Edgar Guevara, president and CEO of M Crowd Restaurant Group, in the release. “I am excited to partner with Trey to allow his creations to soon land on even more plates across North Texas.”

The restaurant is set to open in spring in the Watters Creek Village area of Allen, just south of McKinney.

“I am thrilled to join forces with Edgar and believe that this partnership will allow me to take my establishment to the next level and focus on the part of the business that I love most,” Sanchez said in the release.
