The former location of the Carroll ISD administration building is turning into a housing development called Dove Station in Grapevine.

Eason Maykus, president of Maykus Homes & Neighborhoods, said they are building 19 single-family homes on a 3.79-acre tract of land. Construction of the first house will start in August. The houses will range from three bedrooms up to five bedrooms, according to Maykus.

The property has frontage on Dove Road and North Kimball Avenue, which will be the only entrance into the property.

The location was formerly a 32,000-square-foot Food Lion grocery store in 1991, according Grapevine city documents when the development was approved in August 2023.

The building later became the CISD administration building and used by the district for storage before being sold at an auction to Maykus' company.

The development is next to Grapevine Fire Department Station No. 2. A wall constructed near the fire station will replicate the wall at the fire department, Maykus said.

The price for homes will start at $1.25 million, Maykus said. The estimated completion of the neighborhood is the summer of 2025.
