Here are 10 transportation projects currently ongoing or recently completed in Frisco. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Mahard Parkway construction


Project: Mahard Parkway is being constructed, and it will be six lanes. The roadway will span PGA Parkway to US 380 and will border the Firefly Park development.

Update: The project is under construction and is expected to be completed at the end of next year.

2. Hillcrest Road intersection


Project: An intersection is being added to Hillcrest Road at Eldorado Parkway. The project cost will be reimbursed by the developer, according to the city’s Capital Improvement Projects website.

Update: The design phase for the project ended in early 2025 and construction

3. Meadow Hill Drive

Project: The road is being reconstructed as a 26-foot-wide concrete road from North County Road to Rogers Road. Reconstruction will include a drainage ditch and drainage system improvements and roundabouts built at two intersections along the road.

Update: Design plans are approximately 90% complete and construction is expected to begin in 2026.

4. Lebanon Road widening


Project: Lebanon Road will be widened from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane divided roadway from FM 423 to Todd Drive. Improvements include pavement reconstruction, bridge repair, drainage improvements and street light replacement, among others.

Update: City council awarded a contract for construction in October and construction was anticipated to begin in December 2025.

5. PGA Parkway widening

Project: The roadway will be reconstructed from an existing two-lane asphalt road to a six-lane, divided concrete roadway from Preston Road to Hillcrest Road.

Update: The road is under construction. Once complete, the improvements will include a new traffic signal, drainage upgrades, street lighting and the placement of a 36-inch water line.

6. Legacy Drive and Stonebrook Parkway widening


Project: The project spans Legacy Drive from Lebanon Road to Stonebrook Parkway and Stonebook Parkway from Legacy Drive to 4th Army Drive. The project will widen and reconstruct the roadway.

Update: The project’s design phase is expected to be completed by mid-2026.

7. Teel Parkway widening

Project: Teel Parkway will be widened from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway from Stafford Middle School to Oliver Branch Road.

8. Frisco Street roundabouts


Project: Roundabouts will be added along Frisco Street at Technology Drive, Sports Village Road, All Stars Avenue and Research Road.

9. Fields Parkway traffic signal installation

Project: A new traffic signal is being installed at the Fields Parkway and Dallas Parkway intersection. The traffic light is adjacent to the new Universal Kids Resort theme park.

10. Panther Creek Parkway


Project: A new six-lane roadway has extended Panther Creek Parkway from Dallas North Tollway to Preston Road. The new roadway provides a continuous route across the city from FM 423 to Custer Road.

Update: The road was opened in late October with a new traffic signal at the intersection of Panther Creek Parkway and Universal Parkway
