Godiva announces closure of 128 stores, including Frisco location

The Frisco location of Godiva Chocolatier within Stonebriar Centre at 2601 Preston Road, Frisco, is set to close this spring.

In a January news release, Godiva announced that due to the business’s consumer base being driven by online and purchasing the products through grocery and retail partners, Godiva will close its 128 brick-and-mortar locations in North America, including its Frisco shop. These stores will close by the end of the first quarter of this year, the statement said.


“Godiva is already available in many retailers in North America and we will continue to increase our presence there while always upholding the premium quality, taste, and innovation that we have been renowned for since we were founded in Brussels in 1926,” Godiva CEO Nurtac Afridi said in the release.

The chocolate boutique offered gourmet chocolates, truffles and biscuits as well as specialty gift baskets and party favors. Flavors included milk chocolate, white chocolate and caramel. 469-633-1309. www.godiva.com
