The candidate filings opened Jan. 14 for Frisco City Council and Frisco ISD seats.

The filing period to apply for a place on the ballot runs Jan. 14-Feb. 13 for the May 2 election.

What you need to know

Three Frisco City Council seats are up for election including:
  • Frisco mayor
  • Frisco City Council Place 5
  • Frisco City Council Place 6
Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney is completing his final term on council and cannot run for re-election along with council member Brian Livingston, who holds the seat for Place 6. Laura Rummel currently sits on Place 5.

For FISD, two seats are up for election on the board:
  • Frisco ISD board Place 4
  • Frisco ISD board Place 5
Mark Hill sits in Place 5 and recently announced he intends to run for mayor. Dynette Davis currently sits on the Place 4 seat.


Election packets can be found online or picked up from the respective entities an applicant is looking to serve. They will also need to be submitted before the application deadline to the respective service locations.
