The city of Frisco has several park and trail projects underway, including hike and bike trail extensions and new neighborhood parks. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Cottonwood Trail

Project: The city of Frisco is extending the existing Cottonwood Creek Trail to be extended under the Dallas North Tollway along the Cottonwood Branch. The addition will allow for approximately 3.3 miles of continuous trails from North County Road to Teel Parkway.

Update: The trail extension is under construction and an estimated opening date has not been set yet by city officials.

2. Shepherds Glen Park


Project: The park will see various improvements, including a larger splash pad area, larger playground elements, new parking areas and pedestrian paths, restored native landscaping and updates to the Public Art area.

Update: The park is currently under construction.

3. Grand Park

Project: The park will span more than 1,000 acres when completed and include ponds, playgrounds, an amphitheater and a dog park.

Update: Frisco City Council approved a contract for the first phase of construction Oct. 7. The first phase will include 68 acres of key infrastructure, lake and trail development, ecological enhancements, and public amenities such as pavilions, playgrounds and ponds.

4. 4th Street Plaza


Project: The new plaza will serve as an outdoor community gathering space for the Rail District with a pedestrian connection between Elm Street and Main Street.

Update: The design phase was completed and construction is expected to be completed in early 2026.

5. Warren Sports Complex Pickleball Courts

Project: The sports complex is getting more pickleball courts. Once completed, the park will have 12 dedicated pickleball courts, lighting, pedestrian paths and landscaping.

6. Beavers Bend Park


Project: The park currently features a bike trail, pavilion, pond, playground and walking trail.
  • Update: A city review of parks identified that Beavers Bend Park needed reinvestment and improvement. City officials are currently in the design phase for park improvements.
  • Timeline: Construction to last spring 2026-spring 2027
  • Cost: TBD

7. Independence Trail

Project: A new hike and bike trail will run from Eldorado Parkway to Pond Cypress Lane.

Update: The trail is under construction and an estimated opening date has not been set yet by city officials.

8. Frisco on the Green

Project: The park will feature a nature pavilion, wetland landing and ecological restoration.


Update: The project is expected to begin its design phase in early 2026.
