Edgnuity also has an on-demand tutoring service in which conversations between teachers and students are recorded, Jordan said.

Argyle ISD will, however, have a student success coach for online students to check in with for general help. Jordan said students will not be allowed to schedule virtual classes between two in-person classes.

“Virtual classes must be scheduled before or after [a student's] block of in-person classes because students cannot come and go during the day,” Jordan said. “This is mostly for safety reasons. We need to know when students are on campus.”

Here are other logistics families may want to know about the program:

• SOAR students can participate in UIL and clubs, but will have to be on campus for activities.
• Parents must provide transportation unless students are riding the bus at the normal arrival or dismissal time.
• Virtual learners with disabilities may be provided limited accommodations on an individual basis.
• Advanced Placement, honors and dual credit classes are available only for in-person learning.
• Students must log attendance by submitting an assignment, logging into Egenuity or submitting a Google form about other class work.
• Students will be issued a Chromebook.

One more thing

Parents will receive daily email updates from Edgenuity about course progress, grades and attendance, Jordan said, and weekly emails from the district’s student success coach.

“Parents are taking on the responsibility of being a co-teacher and monitoring their child’s academic progress,” Jordan said.

Parents can submit a request for their student to participate in the SOAR program for fall 2026 by April 3 or for spring 2027 by Nov. 13 through an online interest form. There are currently no limits to how many students can apply. Only requests from parent emails will be accepted and will be processed on a rolling basis, Jordan said.
