Lewisville ISD will open its campuses and facilities on Friday, Jan. 30 under normal operating hours, according to a district announcement.
The details
The announcement states that maintenance crews have worked to break up ice in entrance ways, parking lots and high traffic areas over the last two days.
Buses will run on their normal schedules, according to the statement.
While road conditions may vary across LISD, which covers 127 square miles, district officials said they made the decision to open by "[taking] into consideration all of the 13 different municipalities our district serves."
Parents are encouraged to make the final decision on whether their children will attend school and are asked to notify the school if they are staying home. According to the statement, the district will accommodate absences and tardies accordingly.
LISD was closed from Jan. 26-29 due to unsafe road conditions caused by winter weather from Winter Storm Fern.
