Peak Physical Therapy is now open in Argyle, according to company staff.

The facility offers outpatient physical therapy primarily focused on musculoskeletal conditions, including non-surgical and post surgical treatments, for patients from teenagers to the elderly, said Clinic Director Eric Terrazas. The clinic also offers concussion management training for athletes and will serve around 10 to 12 patients per day.

Gyro & Grill Mediterranean is now open in Northlake, according to company staff.

The restaurant specializes in fresh, handcrafted dishes inspired by the rich culinary traditions of the Mediterranean featuring a selection of gyros, grilled meats, fresh salads, and house-made dips. The menu offers a variety of dishes from a falafel pita sandwich to a turkey pesto panini. For dessert guests can choose from baklava, tiramisu, cheesecake and french macarons.Coming soon

Spice & Tonic Indian Cuisine & Bar


A new restaurant featuring authentic Northern Indian cuisine, Spice & Tonic Indian Cuisine & Bar, plans to open in the Highland Village Marketplace.

The menu includes dishes such as chicken tikka masala, samosas, pakoras and garlic naans, which are baked fresh according to Spice & Tonic’s website. During lunch service, diners can order a thali, which includes a variety of dishes, company staff said.

Spice & Tonic is owned by Chef Joginder Cheema, who has over 35 years of experience in the restaurant industry. The restaurant has another location in Minnesota that operates in Minneapolis.

Blo Blow Dry Bar

A new hair salon concept, Blo Blow Dry Bar, plans to open in Argyle this summer.


The business provides customers with a hair wash before blowing it out, according to its website.

Amber Sams, the owner of Blo in Argyle, said customers can choose from five signature styles as well as custom looks.

In addition to blow outs, Blo offers make-up services and extensions, per the website. Sams said individuals can purchase a membership at the Argyle location. More membership information is available online.Closings

Party City


Party City in Flower Mound has closed down after the company announced nationwide closures in December.

According to the news release, the company commenced a wind down of its retail and wholesale operations and going out of business sales at approximately 700 stores nationwide after serving Party City customers for nearly 40 years. The decision was made following exhaustive efforts by the company to find a path forward that would allow continued operations in an challenging environment driven by inflationary pressures on costs and consumer spending.Market by Macy’s

A Market by Macy’s store in Flower Mound has closed its doors, after Macy’s Inc. confirmed it was closing 66 stores this year.

The store, which opened in The Highlands of Flower Mound shopping center in 2021, sold a selection of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, home, and beauty items.

Texas Health Heart and Vascular Specialists


A Texas Health Heart and Vascular Specialists location is undergoing renovations in Flower Mound.

A project has been filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for renovations of 1,195 square feet within the facility. Construction was scheduled to begin April 1 and is set to complete April 30 at an estimated cost of $94,088, according to the filing. The company offers a variety of heart and vascular care from diagnostics to treatments like angioplasty and cardiac catheterization. Renovations are coming soon at the Walmart in Highland Village.

A project has been filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for renovation of the location off Justin Road. Construction is set to begin July 15 and complete Nov. 4 at an estimated cost of $1.5 million. According to the filing, the work will include replacing skids, bunker islands, reach-in ice cream cases, frozen food cases, seafood cases, frozen cake cases, bakery and grocery freezer walk-ins and more.The Backyard

A new gathering space within The Shops at Highland Village, The Backyard, is set to hold a grand opening later this year.

The new outdoor space will host events, such as a summertime concert series, according to previous Community Impact reporting. The Backyard will include path lighting, several seating options, shaded areas, a water feature, landscaping and a green space.

The space hosted the annual holiday event, “Our Village Glows,” in November before further construction took place, said Virginia Tirey, marketing manager for The Shops at Highland Village. The work is expected to be completed ahead of the Earth Day event April 22, Tirey added.

A grand opening ceremony for the space, which will include live music, giveaways and outdoor fitness classes, is planned May 16-18.
