Funding will be used to help cover redesign costs connected to future rights of way for land located near Loop 288 East and Geesling Road, per county documents. The land will be part of the planned Loop 288 East and US 380 connector project.
The land being acquired is part of a planned facility for national informational technology asset disposal company Transpere, which began development before the Texas Department of Transportation finalized a design for the connector between US 380 and Loop 288, according to city documents. The connector will require a redesign of the site, which went under development in late 2023.
Also of note
The connector between Loop 288 and US 380 is expected to be a six- to eight-lane roadway that will reduce the amount of truck and vehicular traffic along the portion of US 380 running through Denton, per city documents. Denton City Council approved the interlocal agreement at the Sept. 16 meeting.
