Denton voters can cast their ballots June 13 in two runoff races for mayor and City Council At-Large, Place 5.

Denton voters will decide between Chris Watts and Brian Beck for mayor and Erica Garland and George Michael Ferrie Jr. for the Place 5 seat after no candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the May 2 local election.
According to previous reporting, Watts received 44.22% of the vote in the mayoral race, while Beck earned 34.02%. The pair advanced to the runoff over Shannon Childs and Angela Brewer.
In the Place 5 race, Garland received 48.84% of the vote and Ferrie earned 47.94%. The two candidates advanced to the runoff over Caleb Meese, who received 3.22% of the vote, according to previous reporting.
The winners of the runoff elections will serve as Denton's next mayor and the City Council At-Large, Place 5 representative.
