Unofficial voting results show that Greg Petolick secured the Denton ISD Place 6 position after he defeated Vicki Byrd by 150 votes.
Petolick earned 6,953 votes, or 50.55% while Byrd garnered 6,803 votes, or 49.45%.

Petolick has secured 5,686 votes, or 51.16% of the votes cast that have been tallied. Byrd earned 5,429 votes, or 48.84%.

Unofficial results show Greg Petolick is leading the race for Denton ISD, Place 6.
According to the unofficial early voting totals released from the Denton County Elections Office website, Petolick has secured 5,178 votes, or 51.09% of the votes tallied so far.

Early results show Vicki Byrd, the only other candidate running in the race, has earned 4,957 counted so far, or 48.91%.
Byrd is running for Denton ISD Place 6 after serving as the District 1 council member on Denton City Council. Petolick is an accounting professor at Southern Methodist University, according to previous reporting.
Overall, 6.45% of Denton County residents either turned out for early voting or mailed in a ballot, according to the county's election website. There are 578,734 registered voters in Denton County.
