Denton ISD's board of trustees approved Harber as the school's principal during an Oct. 14 board meeting. Harber most recently served as assistant principal of Rivera Elementary.
"Rivera has been home to me," Harber said during the board meeting. "I'm proud that we get to continue that work together because at the end of the day, we're the Rivera family."

Harber is a Denton native and attended Newton Rayzor Elementary School, Calhoun Middle School and Denton High School, according to a social media post. She has 13 years of experience in education and has previously served as a dual language teacher at Hodge and Evers Park elementaries and as a fifth-grade dual language teacher at Rivera Elementary.
Harber holds a master's degree in teaching, learning and curriculum and is a certified principal.
