The Denton Planning and Zoning Commission approved plans for the next phase of the Robson Ranch development at an Oct. 8 meeting.

The motion passed with a 5-0 vote, with Commissioner Lisa Dyer recusing as she is a resident of the community.

The specifics

Robson Ranch is an active adult community for individuals age 55 and up, according to its website. The 23.37-acre site is generally located approximately 150 feet west of Florance Road and 950 feet south of Blair Road, per city documents.

Denton City Council approved the concept plan for Robson Ranch in August 1999 and approved the detailed plan in August 2011, according to city documents.


The approved plat of land will contain 67 residential lots, eight common space lots, and one private street lot from a previously unplatted tract of land, according to city documents.

The plans also include a sanitary sewer easement to facilitate a connection to the existing sanitary sewer line.

  • 16 pickleball courts
  • Tennis complex
  • Creative arts center and walking paths
  • Softball field
  • Dog park and more
Dyer said the community is close to halfway built out with approximately 3,200 homes.
