Bespoke Undertakings, a business that provides guidance on permanent placement for cremated remains, will open in Denton in late January, owner Joe Bell said.
The gist
The business offers options and assistance in managing cremated ashes for the long term. It is not a crematorium or a funeral home and only serves families who already have cremated remains, Bell said.
“If there’s no place to visit, we lose that person’s history,” Bell said. “They’re so much more than just a box of ashes."

Bell has more than 25 years in death care, and is a licensed funeral director in four states, including Texas.
The permanent placement options include cemetery burial, ceremonial scatterings and columbarium placement, according to the company website. The company also offers personalized urns and can connect clients to providers that offer nontraditional memorials, like infusing the ashes with tattoo ink and or into vinyl records.
