Hayley Angel will begin her new role as the city of Allen’s community development director Jan. 20, according to a city news release.

The details

Angel started working with the city of Allen in 2017 and previously served as the city’s planning manager, guiding major development initiatives, according to the release.

Since 2023, she has been working in similar roles for the city of McKinney. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and an active member of the American Planning Association, the release states.

Angel is grateful for the opportunity to return to the city, she said.

“This organization invested so much in my early career, and I’m excited to give back while working alongside people I deeply respect,” she said.

Quote of note

“There’s real value in someone who knows both the work and the people,” City Manager Eric Ellwanger said in the release. “Hayley’s experience in McKinney adds fresh perspective, but it’s her long-standing relationships in Allen, and the trust earned through years of solid work, that make her well-prepared to hit the ground running.”
