Looking for events to fill the calendar with this April? Check out these eight events around the Allen area. This list is not comprehensive, and event details are subject to change.
1. Allen Americans
Catch an Allen Americans game at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. Opponents slated for games in April include the Greensboro Gargoyles, Wichita Thunder, Tahoe Knight Monsters and Kansas City Mavericks. Select games in April also include promotions such as Decade Night, Lightsaber Night, Biscuit’s Birthday Bash and White Out Night.
2. Concerts by the Creek—Spring series
Enjoy live music in Watters Creek Village with this series of live performances by local bands. Guests can bring a blanket or lawn chair, or listen while dining outdoors at Watters Creek Village restaurants. Outside food and beverages are not allowed, but attendees can purchase food from restaurants onsite.
3. Community Garage Sale
Sell your items, or shop from your neighbor’s items, at the Community Garage Sale hosted by the Allen Parks and Recreation Department. The event is located in the parking lot at Joe Farmer Recreation Center.
4. Cottage Market at Allen Heritage Village
Shop handmade and curated items from artisans and vendors at the open-air market.
5. Stars & Stripes 5K & Fun Run
Participate in a run around Allen in this 5K and 1-mile fun run. Participants will receive a custom race shirt and finisher’s medal. The top three runners from each age group will get an Allen American hat and the overall male and female winners will receive an Allen Americans hockey jersey. The race will start and finish near Bass Pro Shops.
6. Sesame Street Live: Elmo’s Got the Moves
The Sesame Street live show will feature Elmo and his Sesame Street friends as they sing and dance in this family friendly event at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center.
7. Allen 150 Fest
Celebrate the city’s 150th anniversary at a festival in downtown Allen. The event will include live music, food, local art, activities and more. An opening celebration will begin at 3 p.m., and the event will end with a drone show at 8:30 p.m.

8. Plant Bingo
Visit Chicken N Pickle to play Plant Bingo, a relaxed version of bingo where participants win plants as prizes. All participants will take home a plant, and entry costs include one bingo card. Additional cards are available for purchase.
