Academy Sports + Outdoors is expected to open in Fairview Town Center later this year, according to a news release from the Fairview Economic Development Corp.
The store, which will be located near Fairview’s border with Allen, will fill a space formerly occupied by Macy’s. The space is currently being remodeled to accommodate the new sports and outdoor store, the release states. The renovation work on the nearly 66,000-square-foot space is expected to cost $3.6 million, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
"This lease demonstrates the strength of the market and the proactive approach taken by Fairview to attract quality tenants that complement the long-term vision for the center,” said Shop Companies President Thomas Glendenning, who assisted in securing the lease, in the release.
The business offers sporting and outdoors equipment such as apparel, footwear, hunting gear, tents and more.
