Precincts 3 and 4 in Harris County have embarked on a project to widen Grant Road from Spring Cypress Road to Lakewood Forest Drive. The project will take the two-lane road and turn it into a four-lane concrete boulevard with a 14-foot median.
The Precinct 3 commissioners office will tackle the portion of the road from Lakewood Forest Drive to Old Kluge Road. The project is in the design phase with right-of-way acquisition still to be completed.
Precinct 4 is in charge of the piece of Grant Road from Old Kluge Road to Spring Cypress Road, which has been broken up into two sub-projects. Project design has been carried out for a roughly 1,100-foot portion of the road from Old Kluge Road to Malcomson Road.
"The project design is complete and is ready for bidding purposes once a right of way dedication within Precinct 3's section is finalized," said Pamela Rocchi, capital improvement projects coordinator with Precinct 4.
