Construction is underway on an effort to widen a portion of Cypress North Houston Road between Cypress Creek Bend Drive and Greenhouse Road from two lanes to a four-lane boulevard. The project is slated for completion in the late second quarter of 2019, according to officials with Harris County Precinct 3. Cypress North Houston was extended as a two-lane roadway to connect Barker Cypress and Fry roads in 2016 as a part of a partnership project between Harris County, the home building company Taylor Morrison—which built the Alder Trails community along Barker Cypress—and Caldwell Companies, the developer behind the Towne Lake master-planned community. The extension was designed to provide more road connections to service growing populations in western Cy-Fair. Timeline: completed by late second quarter 2019 Cost: roughly $2.8 million Funding sources: Harris County Precinct 3
