Photo courtesy Lone Star CollegeLone Star College System celebrated the dedication of its new Energy and Manufacturing Institute on the University Park campus May 14.
The 70,000-square-foot facility will train students for jobs in the energy industry and provide hands-on instruction with five state-of-the-art classrooms, 28 labs and two simulations rooms equipped with industry-standard equipment and software.
"The institute will concentrate on a strong foundation in scientific and engineering concepts emphasizing exposure to real-world lab and industrial processes and equipment," said John Galiotos, dean of the Energy and Manufacturing Institute.
Students can follow a number of pathways to the oil and gas industry at LSCS. Programs offered through the energy and manufacturing institute range from engineering technology to petroleum data technology.
