Where has ice been spotted on Hwy. 290 and around Cy-Fair?

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Harris County through midnight tonight, including freezing rain, sleet and snow. The Harris County sheriff's office is warning drivers to stay off the roads. Ice has been spotted at the following locations in Cy-Fair, as reported by the sheriff's office, Harris County precinct 4 and 5 constables and Houston TransStar.

HCTRA will waive tolls across the system for the next 24-hrs, beginning at 12 p.m. Tues. Jan 16, through 12 p.m. Wed, Jan 17, 2018, due to inclement wintry conditions. We encourage drivers to stay off the road if possible; however, for those who must drive, pls drive cautiously.

• All Grand Parkway overpasses in Cy-Fair area
• All HOV/HOT lanes

• Hwy. 249 southbound at Beltway 8 (exit ramp, left interchange ramp, right interchange ramp)
• Hwy. 290 westbound feeder road at Fairfield Creek (bridge before Fairfield Creek)

A heavy truck accident was also reported on Hwy. 290 westbound lanes at Skinner Road at 1:38 p.m.
