H-E-B to open new store in Northwest Houston

A new H-E-B is coming to the empty Randalls building at Jones and West roads in Northwest Houston.

H-E-B has announced plans to open a new store in Northwest Houston—hopefully by the end of the year— at West and Jones roads where a Randalls closed more than two years ago.

"We'd like to be open before the end of the year, but we just finalized the contract, so there isn't a definitive timeline yet," said Cyndy Garza-Roberts, director of public affairs for H-E-B.

The company has not determined which format the H-E-B store will be, but it does have about 65,000 square feet with which to work.

"As that community continues to grow, we feel there are products we can provide to the growing [area]," Roberts said.

The last H-E-B to open in Cy-Fair was in 2007 at Barker Cypress Road and Hwy. 290.
