A record-breaking number of students received degrees and certifications from Lone Star College System at the spring 2021 commencement as the college system saw a 5% increase in total graduates compared to 2020, according to a recent press release.
“This past year has presented students with unprecedented challenges,” LSCS Chancellor Stephen Head said. “Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the winter storm and the general disruptions in their lives, Lone Star College students were able to remain focused and accomplish something that will change their lives for the better.”
Additionally, LSCS awarded bachelor's degrees for the first time, according to the release. Out of 9,295 students that completed their education at LSCS this spring, 23 students earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the May commencement. Other bachelor’s degree programs the college system offers include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecurity, and Bachelor of Applied Science in Energy, Manufacturing and Trades Management.
"Attaining my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Lone Star College is the highlight of my educational journey and a valuable achievement for me and my family,” LSC-Montgomery graduate Stella Bishop said in a statement.
