A total of 1,187 new cases were confirmed June 19, and 1,135 were confirmed June 20. The city of Houston no longer updates case counts on Sundays, but 179 new cases were confirmed in Harris County outside of the city of Houston on June 21.
The Houston Health Department, which confirmed 844 cases June 20, said 93.5% of those tests were conducted between June 8-12 with result dates between June 10-15.

The number of deaths in Harris County attributed to COVID-19 increased by 20 between June 19-21, according to data from city and county public health officials. The total case count now stands at 21,053, with 12,580 cases considered active and 8,148 confirmed to have recovered. A total of 325 deaths have been confirmed.
The number of tests being conducted is also on the rise in Harris County, with 41,368 tests conducted between June 14-20, up from 16,310 conducted between June 7-13. Testing data, which is being compiled by the DSHS, includes both PCR swab tests and antibody tests and cannot be used to provide an accurate picture of what percentage of tests and coming back positive.
