Jersey Village City Council plans to discuss herbicide usage in city parks, city facility usage by council members, as well as board and commission appointments during the Sept. 15 regular meeting.
The big picture
During the July regular meeting, council members requested information from city staff regarding the city’s herbicide usage in public parks and dog parks, following residents' concern about exposure to the chemical treatments. For discussion purposes, staff provided a detailed list of the six herbicide products and guidelines currently used by the city, according to the Sept. 15 agenda.
Per the meeting agenda, City Council is slated to select and appoint residents who submitted applications to various boards and commissions:
Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z)
Capital Improvements Advisory Committee
Board of Adjustment
Building Board of Adjustment and Appeals
Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
Golf Course Advisory Committee
Also of note
City council will discuss and consider setting the City Secretary's and City Manager's compensation for fiscal year 2026-27.
