Here are six ongoing and upcoming transportation project to be aware of in the Conroe and Montgomery areas.
1. Hwy. 105 improvements
The Texas Department of Transportation is working on a project in downtown Conroe to add a raised median, sidewalks, and pedestrian and transit areas to Hwy. 105 between I-45 and Hwy. 75. The project by contractor Smith & Co. is 92% complete. Timeline: Oct. 4, 2016-first quarter 2019 Cost: $3.9 million Funding source: TxDOT
2. FM 1488 turn lane
A TxDOT project by Harper Brothers Construction to build a right-turn lane along FM 1488 at Carriage Hills Boulevard is 59% complete. Timeline: Feb. 13, 2019-second quarter 2019 Cost: $619,700 Funding source: TxDOT
3. FM 3083 widening
Hwy. 75 and FM 1484 TxDOT is in the midst of constructing a grade separation at the Union Pacific railroad along FM 3083, adding one lane in each direction with shoulders as well as a middle left-turn lane between Hwy. 75 and FM 1484.
