The Conroe City Council welcomed two new members to its ranks over the summer—Place 5 Council Member Jody Czajkoski on May 5 and Place 4 Council Member Raymond McDonald in the June 30 runoff. Now that both new council members have sat comfortably in their respective council seats for nearly five months, Community Impact Newspaper checked back in with them about their priorities and expectations for the future of the city of Conroe. Running for City Council was 15 years in the making for McDonald. With a background in music and civil engineering, he was excited to see the development of the city as it became the fastest-growing in the U.S. in 2017. When the pastor started a church in downtown Conroe and moved in across the street from it 18 years ago, being involved in City Council became a back-burner dream—especially when he adopted 8 more kids in addition to his wife’s older three.
