Approximately 50 Montgomery residents gathered at Montgomery City Hall on Tuesday evening to attend the public forum for candidates on the May 5 local election ballot. For the first time since 2013, several seats are contested on the May ballot, including the roles of mayor, city council place 2 and city council place 4. During the forum, candidates responded to questions submitted from the community about issues and topics relating to the city of Montgomery, including mobility issues, economic growth in Montgomery and the Downtown Historic District. Jennifer Anthony, candidate for council member place 4, and mayoral candidate Dan Katen were not present for the forum. The forum was co-hosted by the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and the Voters Awareness Council, a nonpartisan and nonprofit organization serving Montgomery County.
