Conroe Economic Development Council hires new director from Tomball

The Conroe Economic Development Council has a new leader.

Tiffani Wooten was named the new executive director of the Conroe Economic Development Council, officials announced Nov. 1 in a news release.

At a glance

Wooten was the assistant director for the Tomball Economic Development Corporation. During her 18 years in Tomball, Wooten helped bring in $490 million in private capital investment, according to a news release.

“Tiffani is a proven economic development champion who showcases an ability to collaborate with business owners, industry representatives and prospective growth partners for the betterment of the community she serves,” Conroe City Administrator David Willard said in a statement. “Her passion for workforce development and lengthy track record of securing transformational investments will continue to move Conroe forward.”

Before Tomball, Wooten held executive director positions for two different economic development offices in Kansas.

The Conroe Economic Development Council receives funding from the city’s sales tax and works to attract and support business in Conroe.

In a statement, Wooten called Conroe “a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, manufacturing and distribution.”
